About Skils and Techniques of Sign Language Course

Sign language is a language that uses the visual-manual modality to convey meaning. Sign languages are expressed through manual articulation in combination with non-manual markers.

Sign language should not be confused with body language, a type of nonverbal communication. Sign languages convey much of their prosody through non-manual elements. Postures or movements of the body, head, eyebrows, eyes, cheeks, and mouth are used in various combinations to show several categories of information, including lexical distinction, grammatical structure, adjectival or adverbial content, and discourse functions.

Skils and Techniques of Sign Language level2 course deals with the following topics:

The trainee will learn the social and educational importance of understanding and using non-verbal communication methods and finger spelling, with an explanation of non-verbal communication methods, which includes an explanation of the importance of communicating by non-verbal means and an analysis of types of communication such as body language and total communication with an explanation of spelling.

Fingering and how to practice it, with a focus on the basic rules to ensure correct practice of spelling. We will learn about indicative terms that focus on explaining the basics of sentences in sign language.

The trainees will be trained on indicative terms in various fields such as religion, professions, colors, Arab and foreign currencies, food, clothing, and giving an idea about Units of measurement.

There is an explanation of the technology supporting the hearing-impaired, which has witnessed successive developments that have helped in overcoming the problems caused by hearing impairment in communication processes with hearing-impaired individuals and have facilitated many of life’s requirements for them, as these technologies included the production of many computer programs, hearing aids, and communications devices in all their forms. And their types, television devices translated into sign language, simultaneous translation devices, alarm and warning devices, writing devices, and electronic sign dictionaries.

In sign language course we will have practical exercises and activities, including exercises to apply various concepts, which helps in improving finger spelling skills and the use of sign language. Through them We will learn the importance of understanding non-verbal communication methods and encourage trainees to continue learning and developing communication skills.
